There’s something weird in Persephone’s mailbox.
It’s not a bill, nor is it an advertisement.
It’s difficult to read. Persephone thinks she’s heard of this kind of font. It’s called handwriting. Um . . . cursive. It appears to be her name.
Should she be concerned? Is it some kind of scam?
She likes the thing in the corner. She believes it is called a stamp, but she doesn’t know where to buy one or how much they cost. This one says Forever. It seems meaningful. Full of meaning, and yet devoid of information.
Persephone takes it upstairs and sits with it for a while. Finally, she carefully slits open the top of the envelope, and pulls out . . .
an … invitation!
To what is she invited?
Stay tuned.
Persephone is made from a worn out pair of corduroy pants. Her paws are from a piece of velvet that long ago covered my mom’s piano. Her top is made from a piece of old plain bedsheet that I printed on using a Gelli printing plate (it’s fun, I recommend it), and her scarf is from a scarf also from my mom.

Special thanks to Krista.
I hope that pomegranate martinis will be served t Persephone at this event. Maybe she’ll even get to toast someone. This devoted follower is eagerly anticipating the What to Weat post.
Er, the What to Wear post. One big advantage of handwriting is at least the writer makes his or her own mistakes , unlike my fat fingered word prediction error.
All guests will be wearing repurposed clothing.
I’m quite ambivalent about her weird -looking eye so different from her other eye. Anyway, I think the ridged brown corduroy goes really nicely with the smooth beige of her paws and feet. btw, not only do postage stamps bear the profound word eternity, the ones I just bought announce LOVE. ps. will she receive an invite to the prince’s ball?
Postage stamps are becoming very deep!
Persephone looks worried by this invitation. Does she have social anxiety? 😉
yes.
Next up for Persephone….probing the mystery of the RSVP.
that’s probably worth a whole separate post.
